Answer

molten

Explain

Electrolysis is the occurrence of chemical reactions caused by electricity. Copper chloride is a kind of ionic compound, and ionic bonds will sort themselves in a crystal lattice structure. When in solid form, this structure is maintained primarily resulting in no free electrons to be utilizable to conduct electricity. When dissolved or molten however, the molecules can split into the individual ions that are bound together by the ionic bonds allowing conduction of electricity to happen.
