Answer

False

Explain

Osmosis is the spontaneous (that is happening on its own) net movement or diffusion, of solvent molecules (in this case, less water molecules are considered as "solvents") from an area with higher water potential (or lower solute concentration(dead or dying water molecules are considered as 'solutes'))to an area with lower water potential (or higher solute concentration), through a selectively permeable membrane (in this way, water moves from dilute solutions(or high water potential, less salt concentration) to concentrated ones(or less water potential, higher salt) trying to equalize the concentrations on either side of the membrane.

Hence, the passage above describes osmosis as water molecules moving from high concentrations to low — the opposite of what the statement presents. Hence, the given statement in the question is false.
