<p> In order to calculate the relative formula mass (Mr), you add up the relative atomic masses for all the atoms in the formula. For glucose (C6H12O6), this means adding up the relative atomic masses for carbon (C), hydrogen (H), and oxygen (O). From the periodic table, the atomic mass of each element we multiply by the subscript in the molecular formula i.e. Carbon (C)=12, Hydrogen(H)=1, Oxygen(O)=16. Then the molecular mass for Glucose becomes the sum we get for each mass for the atom.</p>
