Answer

The human cells also known as the gametes are the sperm cells in males and ovum (egg cells) in females.

Explain

## Step1:
In terms of human biology, gametes are the cells responsible for sexual reproduction. Essentially, the gametes are the reproductive cells for humans.

## Step2:
For humans, there are two types of gametes, depending on the sex at birth.
- Males have sperm cells, which are small, motile and easily stream-lined to promote motion.
- In contrast, females have ovum (egg cells) which comparatively are rather larger and non-motile.

## Step3:
An important characteristic of gametes is that they are distinctively haploid - meaning they contain a single copy of each chromosome. Having only one set of chromosomes is different from the number of other cells in the body, which are diploid (having two copies of each chromosome).
