<p> Empirical formula is the simplest positive integer ratio of atoms present in a compound. However, the molecular formula is the actual number of atoms present in each molecule of a compound. The empirical formula can be the same as molecular formula but not in all cases. For example, in case of water, its molecular formula is H₂O and its empirical formula is also H₂O, hence in such case, it is the same. But in the case of glucose whose molecular formula is C6H12O6, empirical formula is CH2O, hence not the same.</p>
