Answer

Toxins

Explain

Bacteria harm human cells through a few primary means, one of which being the production of toxins. Bacterially produced toxins fall into two categories - exotoxins and endotoxins. Exotoxins are potent and harmful substances secreted by certain types of bacteria that can cause disease and damage at small doses. Endotoxins on the other hand, are a part of the bacterial cell wall of Gram-negative bacteria that, once the bacterium perishes and subsequently rots, is released, triggering a potentially harmful immune response in hosts.
