Answer

a

Explain

Transcription is a fundamental process that occurs in all living organisms. It is part of the process of protein synthesis, whereby certain sections of DNA (genes) are 'transcribed' into a similar molecule known as RNA (Ribonucleic Acid). Specifically, during transcription, DNA is used as a template to create an RNA molecule. Transcription is the first step of gene expression, in which the information from a gene is used to construct a functional product such as a protein.
