Answer
Test: A lit splint is brought near to the mouth of the test tube that is supposedly having Hydrogen Gas.
Result: Upon engaging with the lit splint, the tube emits a characteristic 'pop' sound and the flame might go out, signifying water being output by the combustion of the hydrogen.

Explain

When hydrogen gas is involved in a chemical reaction, a common test to verify its presence is famously known as the 'pop' or squeaky pop test. When the gas is collected in a tube and a burning or lit splint is placed near its opening or possibly introduced into it, the hydrogen gas reacts quickly with the oxygen in the air, causing a 'pop' sound. This a reaction between oxygen and hydrogen that produces water, hence this is known as a Rapid Combustion Reaction. After the reaction, the flame may get extinguished since during the test the hydrogen gas releases energy rapidly to produce water.
