Answer

A -9°C

Explain

To determine the new temperature after a fall, we perform a similar algebraic calculation as in the previous example. But this time, instead of adding the temperature change, we will subtract it from the initial temperature, as the temperature has fallen.
Initial temperature = 3°C
Temperature fall = -12°C
New temperature = Initial temperature + Temperature fall
New temperature = 3°C + (-12°C)
We carry out the calculation by subtracting 12°C from 3°C.
